Regardless of where we are in our lives, whether a child, adolescent, or adult, there will be times when we hit a “bump in the road” and could benefit by some professional guidance. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with years of experience in schools and other clinical settings, I have built comfortable, trusting relationships with my clients. We work together to recognize feelings, define issues, uncover strengths and develop a solid foundation for coping with whatever is going on.    We work on better ways to communicate with others for stronger relationships, as well as self-advocacy and coping skills that can help in the immediate situation and for the long term. Out of the challenges that we face can come growth, resilience, better connections with others…..all of which help to make us healthier and happier.

And, better prepared for life’s next steps.

In my practice, I use several approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems, psychodynamic and play therapy. I believe in a strengths-based approach, helping clients to discover their strengths and use them to support their goals and life direction.   I also use some hands-on/somatic techniques which help express feelings through a preferred activity…..including art, piano or even kickboxing!  I want this process to work for you!

In a safe, supportive and caring environment we work through issues including:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Parenting issues
  • Divorce
  • Grief and loss
  • Self-esteem
  • Peer relationships
  • Academic (school) issues
  • Social skills
  • Learning disabilities
  • ADHD
  • Family stress
  • Family communication

For children and adolescents who might be having issues at school, with my experience as a social worker in local area school districts, I understand the school environment and what transpires when students run into academic or social/emotional difficulties. When that happens, it is stressful for children, teens, and their parents, and can affect the whole family as well.  I work with children and their parents to navigate the school environment to look for ways to achieve improved results.

I accept Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO, and can give paperwork to submit for out-of-network benefits.
